I planned my WIAW super early this week… in preparation for a big week on the blog, and in my kitchen. The thing about this past Saturday is that it was still very similar to a regular week day. Ben woke up early to help a friend move house and left me on my own for breakfast and lunch which gave me a morning to get things done – like my Foodie and Food Lover Gift Guide (check that out!)!!
Friday night we had a really, really, really non-paleo night of food – and with more planned this week for Thanksgiving, I thought I would get back on track with scrambled eggs and a banana mango smoothie. Plus the weather was awesome (70° instead of 102° it was the day before) so I ate outside.
I wasn’t super hungry for lunch – as you can probably imagine from two eggs and a smoothie for breakfast – so I kept it light and just had a little bit of cold lamb, half a tomato, and grapes. I had actually wanted olives for lunch instead of grapes… but I couldn’t open the jar. Weakling.
Oh – and I was accompanied by my little pilgrim friends.
I joined Ben and his buddy post moving for Pizza at Hunter Gourmet Pizza. Ben and I ordered a gluten-free Mediterranean Lamb pizza (lamb, oregano, roma tomatoes, onions, roasted red capsicums, feta, on a garlic and olive oil base with coconut yogurt). Ben’s actually the one who picked it out, and then he ordered an additional pizza because he was so hungry. The lamb pizza became mine – and I tried to hoard as much of it as I could because it was so good!!
Like I said Ben ordered an additional pizza, which meant three pizzas on our table! So good!

This weekend I am hosting my first Thanksgiving Down Under and am super excited! I’ve got all the groceries purchased and all of my families recipes from America so it’ going to be super traditional, and exactly what my family is eating in Tampa tomorrow. Have a Happy Thanksgiving yall!
What did you eat this week?
Do you start your Thanksgiving cooking in advance? Or are you a do it all day-of kind of person?
