Every Christmas Eve my family writes down our goals and predictions for the following year and places them in an envelope. We seal it up, pack it away with the Christmas decorations, and open it the following Christmas Eve. Since I wasn’t able to spend the holidays with my family in Florida this year (Australia isn’t a bad place to be for them either)… and I took an unplanned two week break from blogging, this has been my first opportunity to revisit my 2014 goals and predictions to see how things faired out.
I broke things down into categories last year (how thoughtful of me), so I’ll keep it the same now.
Pilates – seems I planned on continuing my pilates practice when I moved to Australia…. and I did for the first few months; I even did pilates when I was in America during the summer waiting for my latest visa. But I fell off the pilates bandwagon the later part of the year, and cancelled my online pilates video subscription. Oops.
Weight – the goal was to be down to my ideal weight (or -11lbs.) If you look back at this goal I was so optimistic. My ideal weight is a number that is 30lbs less than my heaviest point back in June 2012. While doing the Whole30 challenge I got down to my lowest weight in seven years, but was still 1 measily pound away from the 30lb mark. Overall I lost 10lbs in the year. Although I didn’t fully accomplish the goal, I am claiming this a success!
I moved to Australia in 2014… but that wasn’t the goal since it had been planned the year before. However, the goal was to move from Newcastle to Melbourne. Womp. Womp. Womp. I am currently typing this from my tiny office space in Newcastle trying to hide from some housemates who are on my last nerve. We did take a great trip to Melbourne in August, and I fell even more in love with the beautiful city. This goal is remaining on the 2015 goals list.
Post Once a Week – Done! At one point I was rockin a post 7 days in the week. Right now I am averaging 4. Feelin good about this one!
Have 75 posts on TPC – Done! You’re looking at post #140.
Lady Bloggers Group – Not only did I attend the Central Florida Lady Bloggers meetups before moving to Australia… and made some great blogging friends doing it! I also found groups of bloggers in Australia, and in Newcastle and have met up with them as well! It’s so nice to know I am not the only one blogging in this city. Definite success!
I predicted the birth of two babies/pregnancies this year… but only wrote one down. Of course the one I didn’t write down happened. But I am happy nonetheless to have a beautiful new nephew, a healthy future sister in law, and a very healthy best friend (who I am pretty sure will be/will have been pregnant by this time next year).
There ya have it. My revisited goals and predictions from 2014. Check back
tomorrow next week for my 2015 goals and predictions.
How did you go on accomplishing your goals in 2014? Let me know in the comments!
