It’s the most wonderful day… of the week!
I totally just sang that
out loud in my head. Happy Friday! Friday Favorites are one of my favorite posts to write (go figure).. this week especially, because we are getting ready for a very Aussie Christmas.
The tree is decorated, the gifts have been ordered (come on express shipping from the USA), holiday tunes are on repeat, and we are planning a big trip for the holidays! Check it all out.
Favorite Day Dream: The Outback
We are going to the Outback for New Years. No, not the Outback Bowl (total college football/Tampa reference) but the actual Outback! We plan on heading out there on the 30th and spending 3 days exploring the desert, mines, kangaroos, staying in underground hotels, and seeing camels. Did you know Australia is a huge exporter of camels?
To prep for our trip I am not only researching things to do, but also going to watch a bunch of outback movies that were filmed where we are staying, and trying to figure out what someone wears in the Outback in the middle of the summer.
Favorite Wish List Item: Royal Doulton 1815 Collection
Last night as I was putting together my Christmas Wish List (just the post, not the actual list – that was done a month ago) I got an email from my favorite cooking supply store House for their massive 2 day sale. Just casually browsing the tableware I came across the Royal Doulton 1815 collection and can’t stop thinking about how perfect this is, or how it matches to a T what I wanted in my future kitchen.
Favorite Dinner: Taj Mahal Chicken Curry
We make this dish twice a month at least with diced chicken. We first discovered it doing the Whole30 and now eat it regularly. It’s fully of yummies that are so good for you! Oh, and warm raisins – my favorite!!
Favorite Holiday DIY: Chalkboard Christmas Tree
Let’s just take note this is probably the easiest DIY, ever! And looks gorgeous! A setup like this would give any home a totally modern holiday aesthetic.
What does one wear in the Outback?
What are some of your favorite things this week?
OH, and if you’re a slacky-McSlackerson like myself and still haven’t bought your Christmas cards yet don’t worry. Tiny Prints is having a sitewide sale – 30% off everything. When you go to Tiny Prints and place your order, just use the promo code SW30SALE and you’ll save 30% on your purchase. It’s the best remaining sale of the season, so don’t miss it.
