Last week was a really big week, and it flew by quicker than I could have ever imagined. This week is no different. In fact I think it went by faster. I’m pretty sure things feel rushed because it’s almost the holidays and father time messes with us to see how much we can accomplish in as little amount of time as possible, am I right?
Before I get into the Friday Favorites, make sure you stop back next week as I am going to co-hosting my first ever giveaway with some other lovely ladies. You won’t want to miss it!
Favorite Funny: this text from my sister.
And that site she is referring to is Epicurious
Favorite Snack: Canned Pineapple
With a blog name like The Pineapple Cake, I would love pineapple right? Right! When we went shopping for a canned pineapple earlier this week we came across the Love Dole can which has a separate lid and mini fork so you can snack on pineapple all week straight from the can! This only means we are about to eat a ton more pineapple around here!
DIY Project: Glitter Mason Jars
I came across this image on instagram for a wedding this weekend and I thought it was a great idea for our Thanksgiving table setting. As you can imagine it’s incredibly hard to shop for Thanksgiving décor in a country that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving…the red, orange, and yellow harvest décor just doesn’t exist, so I am doing my best to make our first Thanksgiving Down Under resemble one in America and planning on crafting up something similar to these as vases for the table.
Favorite Gift from America: The Publix Pilgrim Pair
Speaking of keeping things as close to home as possible, a Thanksgiving care package from my mom arrived this week and inside were the Publix Pilgrim Pair! I had completely forgotten how necessary these little guys were to the holidays until they arrived, and now that I have them I don’t know what I would have done without them.
photo via The Nesting Game, because my table isn’t decorated yet, obviously.
Ok, if I didn’t have them we would use regular salt and pepper shakers.. but these little ones are just so much cuter!
Favorite Fashion for Warmth: Puffer Vests and Jackets
It’s my understanding most of America is being hit with colder weather for the next two weeks, and by cold, I mean down right freezing! Instead of rubbing it in your face that we have 90° beach weather Down Under, I’ll sympathize with ya, and give you something useful… my favorite puffer vests and jackets.
Don’t forget about all the accessories and such to keep you warm. I wrote a post earlier this week on my 10 Cozy Fall Fashions Under $50 and there are some major sales included in that (I’ve been updating daily), so be sure to check that out!
To be completely honest even though it’s the Spring Down Under I actually really enjoy cold weather, and wouldn’t mind fall all year long (mostly because I love winter clothes… and food, and weather, and football)!!
That’s all folks! Time to get that bi-monthly beast of a newsletter finished up and then enjoy the rest of my Friday with free margaritas at the movies! Yes – that is a thing and it is going to be lovely!
