So happy for it to be Friday!! This was a big week for us not only with the usual things we do around here, but throw in crazy storms, a cold and sniffles, and finishing our 30 day diet. Only one thing standing in the way of celebrating our successful and challenging month, and that’s the Friday Favorites! And by the way, the past two weeks I have been posting yummy cocktails that we can enjoy now that we’ve finished, and last night Ben came home with a bottles of wine and Grey Goose for us to crack into this weekend! In keeping tradition I threw a martini into this post. Yay for the weekend!!
Favorite Song: Something in the Water by Carrie Underwood
I am obsessed with this song!!! (I listed to it
5 6 times in a row while writing this post)
Favorite Travel Shoe: Tretorn Otto’s
You know when you go on vacation and you pack all your cute clothes and shoes for the trip. The first night you go to dinner and wear those cute booties and your feet end up blistered, and you walk back to the hotel shuffling your feet the whole way? That happened to me during our recent trip to Melbourne and I had three more days of exploration to go. Luckily I brought my Tretorn’s and was set for the rest of the trip. I bought these shoes three years ago from their store in NYC and have loved them ever since. The shoe has this foot massaging technology built into the shoe and are seriously comfortable for all day travel and wear – no socks required!
Also, they are unisex, so if you find a color you like in the men’s selections they work for women as well. Mine are men’s.
Favorite Funny: Kevin and his Grandma talk Frozen
This is just really hilarious!! If you haven’t seen any clips from Kevin’s youtube channel you are missing out. Jimmy Kimmel gave Kevin a challenge to work the Frozen plot into a conversation as if they were real people. This is the video and it’s great!
Favorite Snuggly: Chunky Scarves
Alright American friends, I know your weather is getting cooler while ours is getting warmer, and that was all cool… until this week. On Sunday Ben and I went snorkeling for the first time this spring (he literally begs to go all winter while the water is freezing, he loves it) and I obliged Sunday and it was great! On Monday we had a freak storm, and Tuesday another. When we woke up Wednesday morning the wind was howling and the weather was freezing! Look at the news and we saw Sydney had flooded, and it snowed in the mountains – this time last year they were fighting huge forest fires in the same location! I literally climbed out of bed, put on uggs, leg warmers, long sleeves, a vest, a beanie, and the thickest scarf I own just to sit in the house!
I got that one a few years ago from The LOFT, but here’s a few of my favorite scarves for those super chilly days ahead.
Favorite Cocktail: Blueberry Martini Cocktails from Family Fresh Cooking
In addition to the Grey Goose, Ben also brought home the biggest blueberries for Saturday morning pancakes. I have already ripped into them, and there definitely won’t be enough for breakfast tomorrow, but the perfect amount for some cocktails tonight!
Favorite DIY: Glitter Champagne Bottles
Is it New Years yet?! How cute are these champagne bottles? I love this tutorial from Samantha at Beau Coup. These bottles are perfect for New Years, celebrations, or weddings. No wedding for me any time soon and 2 months to New Years means… Pinned!
Well now that that’s done it’s time for a cocktail!
Jk. It’s 10:15am in Australia we don’t drink that early.. and I still have my bimonthly emails to send out (sign up here)! Although what fun that would be to write it after some Grey Goose.
Have a wonderful weekend!
