I’m changing things up around here, at least for this week, and posting my Friday Favorites late Thursday for you Americans and early Friday morning for all the Aussies. You should have seen me last week racing home after a restorative yoga class just to stress out getting my Friday Favorites posted at it’s usual time – my relaxed self was no longer. Also, posting early gives me the opportunity to link up with a few other blogs that I don’t get to usually (check out those links at the bottom of this post).
Favorite Song: Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
I have a small crush on Ed Sheeran (in a love his music kind of way), so much so that I actually have his cd. Yes, like the actual one you buy from the store and put in a cd player.
Favorite Just Because: Flowers
Last week I posted the just because gifts Ben got for me a few weeks prior. On Monday when Ben came home from work he walked in the door and told me he had something for me. My first thought, something dirty that needed to be washed… socks? lunch container? underwear? Instead he reached from around the door and presented me with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. Have I mentioned how much I love this guy?
Favorite Beauty Product: Cetaphil Cleansing Wipes
When I was in America over the summer I fell in love with Cetaphil and their line of gentle cleansers for body and face. As I was stocking up on essentials to bring back to Australia with me I passed by the cleansing wipes and purchase three packages. I love how gentle they are on my skin, remove makeup, and cleanse my face. I keep a pack just next to my bed for those nights when I am too lazy to get up and wash my face. Unfortunately I haven’t found them in Australia yet. You are pretty much looking at my entire collection of makeup here. Shocking, I know.
Favorite Beverage: Cranberry Raspberry Margarita from Valley & Co. Lifestyle
These cocktails look heavenly and a perfect drink to welcome spring in Australia and celebrate when we finish our Whole30 challenge in 12 days… not that I’m counting down or anything.
Favorite DIY: Cement Planters
I have been wanting to make these planters for a while now… part of me is ready to give in and do it and the other part of me is saying to wait because there won’t be enough room in the car to get me, all my baking gear, and cement planters in a car when we move to Melbourne… oh, and Ben has to fit in their too. Darn. Will admire this DIY from a distance until I am ready to decorate our new place – hopefully by the end of the year.
Favorite Decorating/Party Planning Inspiration: Minimalist Baby Shower
What first caught my attention to this party is the wall décor. I love this both for the party but also as inspiration for a similar wall in an entrance way of a home. Also, the party all together is just the cutest! In my mind I throw parties like this.
Although I didn’t post them individually here, last weekend on our trip to the farm we did a bit of roo spotting (because I can’t head west without doing my absolute favorite farm activity – looking for Kangaroos) and I posted my favorite boots and booties for the fall in this week’s fashion fix.
It’s Labor Day weekend here in Australia and as of the time I posted this Ben and I haven’t decided what to do yet. We have the option to go down to Sydney, go fishing, or go camping (which would be a first for me – when I was a Girl Scout we “camped” luxuriously aka camped with toilets and technology).
What are your favorite things this week?
Have you gone camping before without technology and modern luxuries?
