Happy Friday! This week my life has been consumed by meal planning and prepping for the Whole30 challenge and trust me with all of the research I have done this week I could make each one of my Friday Favorites relate to the diet in some way… but that would get boring (so I only included one) and I’ll start off with a song instead.
Favorite Song: Arrows by Fences featuring Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis
I cannot get this song out of my head and every time it comes on Spotify I turn the volume up really loud and sing at the top of my lungs… there may be some really hard foot stomping accompanying it.
Favorite Inspiration: One Kings Lane Morocco Sale
I love when I go looking for something and get completely inspired by something totally different. I was actually checking out the Waylande Gregory sale on OKL because of the animal and pineapple plates and vases (I’m currently obsessed with animal plates) but came across the Escape to Marrakech sale and feel inspired for decorating when we move. We’ve been planning on doing a beach theme in our house but I might have to make it the beaches of Morocco with some oranges, reds, and golds.
Favorite Picture Organizer: ThisLife by Shutterfly
As you are probably aware that the iPhone6 was released today and that iso8 was released earlier this week. The biggest issue for those of us with old iPhones and not a lot of storage space is that we can’t download the new software until we free up several gigs of space aka delete all our photos. Last year I got a one-year subscription to ThisLife and it has made my life so much easier when it comes to photo storage. I can upload my pictures to ThisLife from my computer or iPhone and the program keep everything organized and easy to find using facial recognition, timelines, and removing duplicates. It’s also a Shutterfly brand so you can create photobooks, mugs, cards, etc. using the pictures from ThisLife.
The cool thing about ThisLife is that it’s free to join and upload 2,500 photos, but if you’ve got more it’s less than $5 a month and you get a free photo book! Pretty sweet deal, and not something I got when I signed up in January. I’m jealous.
Favorite Purchase: Brita Fill and Go
I am late to the Brita game, at least in Australia. I had a big dispenser in my kitchen when I lived in Philadelphia, and my parents had a water filter system in our house, but in Australia I’ve been drinking from the tap and can tell the difference. Yuck! This week I bought my own Brita water bottle and I love it! I keep it full all the time and have found I’m drinking 2 liters of filtered water a day as opposed to one glass of yucky tap water. Good purchase by me!
Favorite Cookbook: The Paleo Kitchen: Finding Primal Joy in Modern Cooking
Like I said, my week has been consumed by meal prep, planning, and keeping Ben and myself on the straight and narrow of our new paleo diet. The Paleo Kitchen by Juli Bauer and George Bryant arrived on Wednesday and since then I can’t stop looking through all the beautiful recipes and photographs. This burger with parsnips and avocado mouse has my full attention…. and the candied bacon chocolate brownies for after our Whole30, I can’t wait! Photo via PaleOMG
In other news, happy birthday to my big brother! Can you tell we are related? haha
I already know my highlights for this weekend will be going to the Hunt & Gather Markets and yoga with Ben on Saturday, What are your plans for the weekend?
What are your favorite things this week?
