I missed a week of Friday Favorites because we were traveling, so sorry! But I’m back with stories to tell of Melbourne (next week) and our adventures exploring the city and checking out the neighborhood we will be moving to later this year. I got so busy I didn’t have time to do my weekly post, and now I have so many things on my list I had to narrow down…
There may only be six things here, but next week’s post is already in my drafts folder with plenty more.
1.// Favorite Baby Gift: Koala Hat
I am not pregnant, I would however love one of these when I am (in another 10 years). I am obsessed with all things koala and kangaroo, and given how life is going at the moment the chances of a half Aussie child are pretty probable (in 10 years).
In the meantime my lovely American friends having babies may receive a cute koala hat from their lovely friend Down Under!
2.// Favorite Lifestyle Changer: I Quit Sugar and went Paleo
If you like my Facebook page or follow me on Instagram you will see from the BBQ we ate, and the pumpkin bread I made this week our lifestyle change has not happened yet. But, next week Ben and I will be cutting out the refined sugar, gluten, and dairy from our diets by using the I Quit Sugar program and opting for a paleo diet as well. We are so excited about this decision and all the yummy, healthy foods we get to eat. I will keep you updated on our progress over the next eight weeks.
Oh, and if you are interested in a one week sample of the program you can sign up here. The free week starts with meal prep on Sunday so you are not late to the program.
3.// Favorite Laugh: Buzzfeed Parents Texts
I read Buzzfeed daily and usually get a chuckle out of many of the posts, but this article on 29 Parents Who Are Clearly Way Better at Texting than Their Kids is hysterical! The text below made me spit my tea out!
4.// Favorite Tribal Chant: The Haka
The Haka has been a favorite of mine since traveling to New Zealand in 2005. Since then every event that New Zealand is playing in I make it a point to watch the first 5 minutes of just to see the haka. This video was shared with me by some friends in America who knew how much I would love it – and I’m super proud of USA for their win in this game.
5.// Favorite News: The NFL is comin’ to Australia
It’s football season and I am so excited!! Even though I am living in Australia, football runs deep in my veins, and I am an avid supporter of the Bucs and Eagles – my hometown team (and former employer), and the team I worked for before moving to Australia. When I moved I had to accept the fact that watching football just wouldn’t happen for me anymore… until now! An Australian TV station signed a 5 year contract to air the NFL games live (5 games a week) in addition to Hardknocks and Sound FX (my favorite NFL programming). I’ve already caught Hard Knocks earlier this week, the Seahawks vs. Packers game, and am super excited to wake up at 3am every Monday for the next 18 weeks to watch my teams play!
6.// Favorite Super Sale: J.Crew Factory and Gilt
I just posted my September Fashion Wish List earlier this week and then I saw this: J.Crew Factory Extra 30% Off from Gilt City. J.Crew Factory is already my favorite store, and their deals are unbelievable, but this is a bigger discount off of already discounted clothes. I’m in JCF heaven! This deal is only good until September 14th so head to Gilt City to get the discount and then get to shopping!
These are some of my favorite J.Crew Factory new arrivals for fall.

\\ Pants \\ Earrings \\ Cowel Neck Sweatshirt \\ Knee-High Socks \\
