Seriously you guys, this roman numeral thing is getting a bit tricky. If you were to ask me what the heck XLIX stood for I would tell you to google it (it’s 49, btw) because I have no idea.
This week despite all the protesting going on in Baltimore the collective world seemed to put out more funny videos than ever before making it easy to steer attention from the violence and lift our spirits. It was so tough to narrow down to just one funny video for these Friday Favorites but given Obama’s Anger Translator video from Saturday night I selected the cutest funny video with a nod towards Washington. Be sure to check that one out as well as all of my favorites from this week!
Favorite Lip Color: Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil- Cruella
I got loads of compliments on the lipstick I wore for my birthday last weekend, so I just had to share! I picked up this baby while I was in San Francisco at Sephora a few weeks ago and it’s now my go to for a bold lip!
Favorite Thing in the Medicine Box: Blister Pads and Heel Balm
I’ve been picking up shifts in the restaurant left and right over the past week which means ballet flat blisters from hell from being on my feet all day. Blisters and cracked heels! Did you know cracked heels are caused from standing and putting pressure on our feet? I always thought it was hereditary.
Anyway, I wrote a post this week about foot care and how to not be “that girl”… you know the one who takes her heels off in the club by taking care of your feet while getting ready and when you get home.
Favorite Netflix Doco: Chef’s Table
It’s a fact that I love facts. I loved watching the History Channel, and when I read I tend to read magazines with short stories where I am learning something, or books based on history. I haven’t picked up a fiction book in years. Wait, I have, I put it back down by page 50. Since we don’t have the History Channel in Australia, but we have Netflix, the Documentary section is my new best friend.
Chef’s Table, a Netflix original, premiered Sunday and it takes the viewer inside the mind of the worlds top chefs. We’ve only watched two episodes of this series, but the two we have watched were outstanding. The film crew takes you into the kitchen, out to the farms, and deep into the chefs mind to find where they get their inspiration and how they rose to the top of the culinary world.
We are hooked on this show! I could go on and on about it but this review from Indiewire does a great job at it! If you love food, cooking shows, or want to feel inspired in the kitchen this is a must watch series!
Favorite Cinco de Mayo Cocktail: Watermelon Margarita
Watermelon, lime, and tequila… can you ask for much more??
We’ve got some super fun things planned for the weekend, so be sure to check back on Monday for a full recap!
What your favorite type of margarita?
Do you know as many presidential facts as Macey?
