For what is probably the first time ever, I am not happy this week is over. I am stressed to the max on getting things accomplished before we leave for America next Saturday, Ben’s lovely parents are visiting this weekend, and I have some other big things going on which I’ll share in a few weeks pending how things go. Needless to say I am probably going to run on a lack of sleep to accomplish it all, but it will get done I am determined!
One thing I made sure to get done this week before I head out the door to secret thing I can’t tell you about yet is my Friday Favorites.
Favorite Song: Lay Me Down by Sam Smith
I’ve had this one on repeat because I think it will calm me down. Instead I just get overly excited when I hear it.
Favorite Event: How to be a Full Time Blogger
On Monday I headed down to Sydney for an event with Blog Society, General Assembly, Nuffnang, and Etsy. It was a speaker series on How to be a Full Time Blogger with a panel discussion from women in the blogging industry who are making a full time income from their blogs. It was really great to learn first hand how these women were able to grow their blogs and some steps to take to make it in the blogging world.
Favorite Recipe: Cauliflower Fried Rice
In case you missed yesterday’s post for this rice, I am sharing it again! This is seriously the bees knees of vegetables, with a little prosciutto and pineapple thrown in as well!
Favorite Funny: President Obama Mean Tweets
Mean tweets is one of my favorite segments on Jimmy Kimmel. I think this shows what a personable guy Obama really is, as if we didn’t know that already!
Favorite Family Bonding Event: March Madness
I love a little family competition and nothing is better than March Madness. My dad has set up the family group and we all are entered, including Ben and my brothers fiance Melanie. I am even more excited that we’ll be in America for most of the games and championship!
Favorite Article: What to Wear to a Spring Wedding
A few weeks ago I mentioned I was scouring Rent the Runway for the perfect dress to wear to my best friends wedding in San Francisco in a few weeks. I came across this article recently which gives a really good breakdown on what is required for all different types of wedding formalities: white tie, black tie, beach; and bow tie vs. non-bow tie for our dates.
I am leaning towards this dress for the wedding if I can’t fit into the one I wore on homecoming court in college. I think I am about 2 sizes smaller now, which is a good thing, right? This one has caught my eye a ton as well, I just don’t know if I could pull off a backless bra with this large chest.
That’s it from me until Monday! Fingers crossed I get a ton of work done this weekend amid entertaining Ben’s parents.
