Happy Friday Favorites #60!
Yall, it’s been a day…. it’s only 9:30 and I am buggin (has anyone said that since Cher in Clueless? Anyway I got to my desk to recoup, think about bacon (as ya do), and type this little intro for you. I’m about to get some breakfast in to me and listen to this week’s favorite song on repeat – gotta make it through the day!
Favorite Song: Peanut Butter Jelly
Who knew there would be another awesome song about PB&J?!
The video reminds me of those “people of walmart”youtubes and is just pure fun!
This funny Bri at North Star Girl Lone Star World posted last week is another resemblance.
Favorite Video: Nike FlyEase
I had tears by the end of this. Real tears!
Favorite Man: Ben
I just have to give a shout out to this man right here. This week was his birthday and I was broke. Broke because I just paid for my visa to stay in Australia with him. Not only was Ben completely understanding of this and give me money while mine was transferring over (aka saved my butt majorly!) he also stayed up all night long and devoted two weekends to helping me get all my paperwork together for the application. I don’t know what I would do without him.
Favorite Way to Transfer Funds Internationally: TransferWise
For those of us with lots of family overseas or living the expat lifestyle you know you’ve got money in bank accounts all over the world. This week my visa payments was due to stay in Australia which meant I needed to pull a couple thousand from the US to pay for it all. TransferWise was the easiest way to do this. Instead of sending the money from the US to Australia like I needed they look for someone transferring Australian dollars to the US. Your money never leaves the country you are in, but basically cancels out with someone else. TransferWise takes a very small percentage and that’s it! I saved about $120 in fees using TransferWise this week – and fees are the last thing you want when you’re transferring huge sums of money.
Favorite Recipe: Ginger Chicken Drumsticks
Ben and I are on diet #3 since last September which means yummy paleo meals like this one from last night. Our’s was not nearly as beautiful as Kelly’s but tasted amazing and was so easy!!
Favorite Giveaway: $125 PayPal Giveaway
Who can’t use $125?!? My good friend Annie (in real life and blogging world) is holding a contest to give away $125 paypal if you vote for her to win a trip to Germany… she is so close to the top spot and needs a few more vote, so help my girl out!
a Rafflecopter giveaway
In other general announcements… thanks to everyone who wished me luck on getting that visa application done on time – I did it, paid the money, and can relax a bit now that I am safe to stay in Australia a bit longer – hopefully permanently!! And next week is “Bring your Camera to Aerial Yoga week!” which mean photos of me hanging upside down in awkward uncomfortable positions coming soon. Eek!
That’s all from me till next week. Now that the craziness is over I have a weekend of cooking and spoiling Benny for his birthday – back to the recipe posts next week.
What are your weekend plans?
