Happy Friday Favorites No. 55!
This week has been amazing, and busy, and wonderful, and hectic.. and how many adjectives can I write to get the same message across huh?
This weekend will be more of the same as I wrap up a busy events season at work Sunday morning.. then it’ll be back to focusing all my energy on blogging, visas, and the regular 9-5 job. So without dragging this on for ever, these are a few of my favorite things from the week.
Favorite Song: Bad Blood by Taylor Swift
I heard this one for the first time this week and it’s my jam! Am I behind on this?
Oh, and loving that T. Swift donated $50,000 to a little girl with cancer using this as her anthem.
Favorite Event: Netball World Cup Party
Last night I threw my first big party for work – event planner over here – and it was a smashing success. It was our first “rebranding” event and was attended by 700 people!
There were hundreds of 15 year old girls (netball players), the Netball World Cup trophy made an appearance (and didn’t break), and the food was great! The whole office and Netball NSW was impressed so I’m patting myself on the back for this one. It was really amazing!!
Favorite Celebration: 10 Year Fijian Anniversary
Earlier this week Ben and I celebrated the anniversary of the day we met in Fiji ten years ago. I cooked up a huge Fijian dinner and scheduled a couples massage and Fijian spa treatment for the two of us. During the dinner Ben gave me a wonderful card 10 roses, and a a gorgeous pair of sapphire earrings!
Favorite New Purchase: Hey Y’all Door Mat
A few weeks ago I shared with yall my favorite door mat… just a few weeks later I saw similar door mats here in Newcastle (they obviously didn’t say yall as I think I’m the only Southerner living within 100 miles of Newcastle Australia). I asked really kindly if they would make me a custom door mat and they were thrilled!!
I absolutely love coming home every day to my Poppet and Button door mat. Glen and his wife Paige were fantastic to work with and got this made up within a week of contacting them!
They sell their door mats, concrete soldiers, clocks, stools, and planters on their website PoppetandButton.com.au and attend the markets around Newcastle and the Central Coast (their stall is always packed!). Definitely check them out if you are in the area.
Favorite DIY: Crepe Flower Leis
To celebrate our anniversary I wanted to create a Fijian floral lei called a sulasula… seeing as I couldn’t find any “sulasula”tutorials on the internet I did the next best thing – I created my own.
That’s a wrap for me and the blog this week. Two more work events this weekend and then the crazy time ends.
What are yall getting up to on the weekend?
