1. || Favorite Dinner Inspiration.
When I was living on my own in Florida, Breakfast for Dinner was something that I enjoyed at least once a week (sometimes three nights a week). A few weeks ago I made french toast, bacon, and homemade syrup for dinner. No, it’s not healthy but it was delicious.
2. || Favorite Spot to Cuddle Up with a Book.
Ok, so this isn’t my favorite spot to read a book… yet. I stumbled upon Ana White’s website and her extensive collection of DIY building projects as I was looking for a way to craft a new tabletop for our outdoor glass table that crashed into a million little pieces three weeks ago (we are still trying to clean glass out of the grass). I not only found inspiration for tables, but also so many other fun DIY projects like this Bristol Outdoor Lounge Chair that I would love to work on! I’ll just need a little help from one of the lovely boys I live with of course.
This used to be our outdoor table with glass top. It overheated one night and crashed to the ground while we were hosting people for dinner.
3. || Favorite Boo-Boo Helper.
Growing up I was always the kid who didn’t, under any circumstance want to wear a Band-Aid, so why include this little on my favorites list? Because currently I am rocking four of them for various reasons. Over the course of the week I have: cut my foot snorkeling, cut my finger with a paring knife, and sliced a finger open on the freezer door. I am making Band-Aids cool.
4. || Favorite Throwback Video.
Hey all you late 80’s, early 90’s kids… did you know the first trailer for Girl Meets World is out?! Did you know they were making a Girl Meets World including some of the original cast of Boy Meets World? After checking out the new trailer for the show, pop on over here and take a quiz to find out “Which Boy Meets World Character Are You?” I got Topanga – not always understood, but smart, successful, and can pull off a new haircut – I’ll take it!
5. || Favorite Hidden Gem.
If you are ever traveling in Orlando and do not eat at the little gem that is Huey Magoos you are truly missing something. I say hidden gem because if you didn’t know about it you might not ever venture into their little shop in the corner of a 7-11 gas station. Their menu is simple chicken, fried or grilled, served as strips, in a sandwich, or in a salad. Their special weapon is “Magoos Sauce” a combination of ketchup, mayonnaise, and spices. It is heaven. I made a knock-off Huey’s night here in Australia for Ben this week, complete with special sauce and garlic bread. I’ll be posting that recipe soon. Until then, admire this gorgeous shot of my last Huey’s meal in America.
6. || Favorite Thing to be Excited About.
All week I have been looking forward to The Sydney Royal Easter Show. Wait, scratch that, I first heard about going to the show in Sydney the first day I arrived in Australia, and the day is finally here! As you are reading this there is a good chance I am in Sydney hanging out with baby animals, watching parades, and stuffing my face of award winning foods from all over New South Wales! We are attending only a few days ahead of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George! Be sure to check back next week for my recap of the show.
What are your Friday Favorites this week?
